Exposure to cat urine and feces are some of the most dangerous bio-hazard situations that a homeowner can face. Thus, urine cleanup becomes as essential and as complicated as cleaning blood. A broad range of health hazards occur when homeowners ignore pet urine and feces cleanup. The general health of the inhabitants of a home may worsen causing infections, illnesses, and mortality in serious instances.
Cat urine and feces are definitely dangerous for you. Cat feces can trigger a severe human disease called toxoplasmosis. In the first several weeks, exposure to the parasite referred as Toxoplasma Gondii can trigger flu-like signs. Once the parasite grows, a range of other neurological diseases, damaging consequences such as brain inflammation, and effects on the heart, liver, eyes and ears may also occur.
Another disease that you can suffer from after exposure to cat urine or feces is called Cryptosporidiosis. This causes diarrhea, vomiting, fever, and a host of other problems. Like toxoplasmosis, cryptosporidiosis can influence both cats and humans. Cryptosporidiosis, like most zoonotic diseases, has the greatest effect on those with poor immune health.
Urine of all species includes unhealthy quantities of ammonia. While ammonia is discovered in different cleaning agents and industrial products, the emission is generally of a regulated type. For several days, litter boxes that are open and soiled with cat urine may generate a mild health concern. Exposure to large quantities of extremely focused quantities of ammonia in urine, particularly in cat urine, may trigger respiratory diseases as well as inflammation of the skin and eyes.
As the urine evaporates in its gaseous state, water is dispelled. As a result, the air can be contaminated by toxic fumes which can cause a number of problems to one’s airways.
Of course, if you already have pre-existing respiratory issues or a weakened immune system, you are more likely to develop health issues caused by cat feces and urine.
If you are not cleaning up after your pet daily, or even weekly, animal waste can easily be accumulated. This is extremely hazardous and should be dealt with immediately especially if you have more cats than you can count. You should contact a service to help with this type of cleanup as it is not safe to do on your own. Bio-One of Orange and Orange Hoarding can help you or your loved one with their bio-hazardous cleaning.

We can help you more than you know. Recently, Bio-One of Orange has helped eliminate tobacco smoke odor from a rental home ready for sale. Our help does not only limit its service to cleaning. We can also help realtors and property owners get ready for sale.
Renters do not always treat the home they reside in as if it were their own- this is no secret. Sometimes more issues come up than expected once a renter moves out and the owner assesses the residence for potential repairments. Many tenants still ignore the rule amidst cigarette prohibition rule from the lease states. We can help with tobacco odor removal!
Pets can damage a home by defecating and urinating on the flooring and or walls, which leaves an awful smell and a bio-hazard that is not easy to remove. We can help with the remediation of feces, urine, and odour from those situations!
Hoarding and neglect of throwing away food and soiled items cause mould and a bad distinguished odour. We can help with hoarding removal, mould remediation, and the awful smell!
How about a deep clean/sanitation of a residence that looks unclean, especially with COVID-19? Our proprietary chemicals are stronger and better than anything from local stores. We can make that residence sparkle and remediate any COVID germs that might be lingering...
Sometimes tragedy occurs in a home where the property owner is left to handle it- a crime or death occurs, causing damage to the home from the blood and other bodily fluids. We can help remove those bio-hazards and get the residence back in safe condition!

Orange County: Back to Purple Tier
As of Monday November 16, 2020 Governor Gavin Newsom hosted a News Conference, where he updated all of Southern California's tiers to Purple. Purple Tier means that we are currently at Widespread Risk of COVID-19 Transmission.
"We are sounding the alarm,” said Governor Newsom. “California is experiencing the fastest increase in cases we have seen yet –faster than what we experienced at the outset of the pandemic or even this summer. The spread of COVID-19, if left unchecked, could quickly overwhelm our health care system and lead to catastrophic outcomes. That is why we are pulling an emergency brake in the Blueprint for a Safer Economy. Now is the time to do all we can – government at all levels and Californians across the state – to flatten the curve again as we have done before.”
With Orange County's COVID-19 cases on the rise, according to Voice of OC, 257 people were hospitalized, including 85 in intensive care units. All restaurants, retailers, gyms, etc. must make varying changes once again to slow the spread.
According to CA.gov, in the Purple Tier, restaurants and gyms can only operate outdoors or offer takeout services and retailers can only be open at 25% capacity.
There are steps we can all take to lower us back to the Substantial and Moderate Tiers...
There is a need to focus on the steps for suicide prevention. From 2000 to 2018, the suicide death rate (per 100,000) increased by 25% in Orange County; in the five years from 2014 to 2018, an average of 330 lives were lost each year, reaching an all-time high of 369 deaths in 2018.
Now in 2020, with the COVID-19 pandemic, suicide rates have been on the rise. Suicide is a tragic event that shatters countless lives and it needs our attention. At Bio-One, we see suicide too often and want to spread awareness in an effort to change that rate.
According to Be Well Orange County, there are necessary steps to take to reduce and prevent suicides in our communities.
Be Well OC's Goals are:
